1. Who we are
Foighne Ventures("Foighne", "we", "us", or "our") is the data controller for the personal data processed through this website and any of our products that link to this policy. We are an innovation development company registered in Ireland with offices at:
Sandyford Business Park · Dublin D18 FP98 · Ireland
For data-protection requests, please write to us at the postal address above and clearly mark your request "Data Protection" on the envelope. We respond to all valid requests within one calendar month as required by Article 12 of the GDPR.
2. The data we collect
We collect personal data in the following ways:
(a) Information you provide directly
When you fill in a form on this site (for example the contact form) we collect the name, email address, and message content you submit, along with the topic you select. We use this only to respond to your enquiry.
(b) Technical data
Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs basic technical data about every request, including your IP address, browser user-agent, timestamps, and which pages you visit. These logs are kept for security, abuse-prevention, and aggregated usage analysis.
(c) Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies. See our separate Cookies Policy for the full list, categories, retention periods, and how to manage them.
3. Why we process your data (legal bases)
- Legitimate interest — to operate the website securely, prevent abuse, and improve our products. We balance this interest against your rights and use the minimum data possible.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies and any marketing communication. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract / pre-contractual steps — when you reach out to enquire about partnership, investment, or early access, we process your details to respond to your request.
- Legal obligation — when required by law, regulator, or court order.
4. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the processors who help us run the site, including:
- Vercel Inc. — site hosting and CDN. Vercel processes data inside the EU when our region is set accordingly. Vercel acts as our processor under a Data Processing Agreement.
- Service providers we engage in future for analytics, email delivery, or form submission storage. We will update this list before any new processor goes live.
Where a processor is located outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision to ensure your data is protected to an equivalent standard.
5. How long we keep your data
- Contact-form submissions: up to 24 months from your last interaction with us, then deleted unless we have an ongoing relationship.
- Server logs: up to 30 days, then aggregated or deleted.
- Cookie data: as set out in the Cookies Policy.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- request correction of inaccurate data,
- request erasure (the "right to be forgotten"),
- restrict or object to processing,
- request data portability,
- withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing,
- lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the address in section 1. Identification may be required to confirm the request comes from you.
7. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we use Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and apply additional safeguards where necessary in line with the Schrems II ruling.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) for all traffic, follow the principle of least-privilege for access to systems that hold personal data, and conduct regular reviews of our processors. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we work to make a breach unlikely and its impact minimal.
9. Children
This website is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where local law applies). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please write to us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires it. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page is authoritative; substantial changes will be highlighted on the site before they take effect.
